New briquette plant in Asturias

García-Munté Energía, in the port of Avilés, has obtained environmental authorization to build a new coal briquette plant on the Raíces land. The plant will occupy 400 square meters and will have various equipment, such as silos and hoppers, as well as a 1,600 kW transformation center. The estimated investment is 4 million euros.

Currently, at GME we have 67,000 square meters to store and process coal, with facilities such as warehouses and machinery for grinding and screening. The new plant will produce up to 45,000 tons of fine material per year, increasing the coal treatment capacity to 500,000 tons. The briquettes will be made from the fine waste from the screening process and stored for distribution.
