Last September, from the different GME delegations, we organized the first solidarity paddle tennis tournament with the aim of supporting ACIMET, an association that fights to improve the quality of life of those affected by Methylmalonic Acidemia, a rare hereditary metabolic disease. which occurs in 1 in every 60,000 births and can be detected through Neonatal Screening or what is commonly known as heel test, which establishes early treatment that generates a better prognosis, thus improving quality of life.
With this solidarity action, we managed to raise funds to promote research and care for affected families. With the participation of players of different levels, we experienced a sports day full of solidarity and awareness about this little-known disease.
